Little Trip

Over Memorial weekend we thought it sounded like so much fun to go and hang out with my family at Sara's cabin and go and see yellowstone.  And we were right!

This shirt that Max has on is Alexis's favorite one.  It says, "kisses 25c  saving for college"  if that was true this boy would already be rich.

We woke up one morning at the Cabin and there was no power at all.  So we decided to go on a drive and go see Yellowstone.  I am not sure what happened to the power, but there was no power in Yellowstone at all either.  So we got into the park for free!

I swear every time we come we never really see any animals but this time we saw a baby buffalo, and a mountain goat.  So that was new.

It was such a beautiful drive and we were starving so we ended up going out of the park to a little town and getting some of the most expensive pizza I have ever eaten.  It was so funny to see everyone's faces as we walked around this little town with 21 kids and Annette, Sara and I, and then Rob was the only Man with us.  I think someone did hear the comment about us being polygamists.

One night Karstens friend thought it would be fun to go and catch crawdads in the lake.  I thought he was kidding because I had no clue things like this could live here…. when he brought it in I about freaked out.  I had to go out and see them for myself and they were EVERYWHERE…. it was a little creepy, but cool at the same time.  We caught over thirty of them and then boiled them up to eat.  Everyone loved them and ate them like they were candy.

num num.  They did taste a lot like a lobster or a shrimp type of meat.

Alexis was stuffing her face with some cheesy popcorn so I had to take a picture.  She loves her sweet heard glasses her Aunt Netty got for her.

So for some reason Ryan thinks he is some kind of Chicken farmer and he is loving it.  I am not!   But he thought it would be so fun to try and hatch some eggs out.  And It was fun until they grew up….. I am so fine with little cute baby chickens.   This was fun, but then two of them got weak legs and we had to tie them together so they could walk.  The struggled for a long time until one day a little girl came over and started to play with one and killed it, and then somehow the older chickens killed the other one.  So we were just left with three and they just happened to all be roosters.  Cock a doodle POOOOOOHHHH!  I hate roosters and can not stand them in the mornings.  They start at 5 and then go until 9.  So annoying.
