Butch was baptized

This was such an amazing day.  I can not stop thinking about it.  My Grandpa didn't even look like my grandpa.  He was so happy and had a smile on his face the entire day.  That is not the way I remember him.  He is usually so serious and has his arms folded and a toothpick in his lips.  But this day he was beaming with smiles and was just glowing.  It was amazing.

I think it is so amazing that my grandpa was baptized by my dad.   What a cool thing for my mom also to have her husband be the one to baptize her dad.  I know that my mom is so excited about this and is also in shock.  It is so amazing to see this day come, and think about what is going to happen in one year.  My mom is already worried about where they may be on their mission and what if it is hard to get back to go through the temple with her family.  But it is all going to work out and in a year from now, my grandma will finally be sealed to the love of her life, and my mom will be sealed to her family.  Temples are amazing and families are forever!!!!

This is the first picture I have gotten with my grandpa with a big smile lie this.  He is such a great looking guy, and has such a great smile…
The talks were so great at the baptism.  My cousin Sheldon talked and he did a great job.  He talked about how we have all been waiting for this day and each of us have prayed for it and it is now here.  My uncle Brent had written a letter for Sheldon to read and it was really sad.  It basically said that he served a mission and wanted to see his dad be baptized so badly all his life and he always thought he would be the one to baptize his dad.  But when the time came that Butch was ready, Brent was not.  (Brent has had a lot of problems and has been excommunicated)  But he is working to get back into the church and is repenting so he also said that when the time comes again for him to be baptized back into the church he is glad that his dad will be able to do it.
In the talk he also talked about my cousin Jaycee and how she has been a big part in why grandpa is being baptized now.  I guess Jaycee has been going to the temple every week before school and doing baptisms for the dead.  It is because of her example and her spirit that grandpa's heart has been softened.  Another big part in his baptism was the bishop in their ward.  He just never stopped asking and never gave up on him.
After my grandpa was baptized he went and got his temporary temple recommend and told Jaycee he would go with her to do baptisms for the dead.
I am so grateful for this day and for the happiness it has brought to our family.  The Church is true and is so amazing.  I love it when you can feel the spirit so strong and it just burns in your chest.  I am so thankful for my parents and their example and for the way I was raised.  I feel so blessed, and so lucky to have them and to be raised by such amazing people and be taught the gospel.  I am still learning on a daily basis, but the more I know the stronger the spirit tells me that this is true.  I am so thankful that my girls are showing a love for the gospel and are following the things they are being taught.  I pray that I can help them to gain their own testimony and  they will all know for themselves that this is the only true Church on this earth.  I know there are a lot of other religions that have some parts of the truth and they are teaching good things, but ours is the only church that has the fullness of the gospel and all the key's to perform and give all the blessings we receive.
