Alexis Walking the Halls!

Alexis has 100 AR points in school, and so she was able to walk the halls this Friday!!! 100 points means that she has read over 200 books and has passed all the tests on each book. She has become such a good reader, and is really doing good in school We are so proud of Alexis!!!

The black Panther is the leader in the little parade in the halls, and then they all get a picture taken with him, and the picture is hung on the walls of the school.
We all woke up early and were able to make it to the parade on time.... (it wasn't easy getting all three girls ready but we made it) (8:20) Alexis was excited to have her family with her, and her Grandma and Grandpa Harris were able to make it and that made her feel really special! Elizabeth didn't want to be in the picture so I had to grab her and hold her, and right when they were taking the picture she turned her head.

For reaching 100 points the students get a pass to a swimming resort, and a free kids meal at Arctic Circle.

During the parade all the kids come out of the classrooms and into the halls and clap for the students who have reached 100 points. It is so cute! They will all give them five's and tell the good job, and cheer them all on.
Good job Alexis!!! We love you

flowers

This is a picture from last year. (I wish everything was this green already)

Sunday afternoon my girls came running into the house so excited and told me that I had to come outside and see something. They found some Tulips that were starting to pop out of the ground! They are so funny about the flowers that we grow, and have always been very good about watering them, pulling weeds, and they love to show them to anyone that comes over. Last year after our tulips had all died I went outside and cut them all down. Elizabeth went outside a little while after that and saw that they were all gone, she came in the house balling, and told me that someone had stolen our flowers. After I told her that more flowers were going to grow she cheered up a little, but she missed the tulips. It was really cute last night in Elizabeth's prayers she blessed mommy's flowers to grow. (so with that prayer we should be getting the best flowers ever :)

Green eggs and ham

Last week at school Alexis and her class celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday. On Monday they had a crazy backwards day... so Alexis wore her shirt backwards, and her pants inside out, and two different shoes. On Tuesday they had a crazy hat day, and on Wed. they had sock day. And Thursday was green egg and ham day. They all had to wear green to school, and Ryan actually made Alexis green eggs and ham.

It took a while before she would even try it, but after she did she said it tasted the same. She liked the bacon the best!
This weekend we went to a Cheer competition that our cousin Jaycee and Kylee were in and they took first place! It was a lot of fun to watch then an hang out with them. My girls really liked all the gymnastics that they all did, but Elizabeth wasn't feeling the best so didn't get into it as much. She had the worst runny nose and so her nose was very red.... she also has a black eye from a bicycle crash.... And after this picture Brytlee scratched her face, and then she ran into the car door while Ryan was opening it and got a huge goose egg on her forehead.... She didn't go to church the next day because she was looking a little abused.....

Breaking my heart

Alexis said something this Saturday that broke my heart. She was playing and going round and round in circles when I walked by and her arm hit me. I said "ouch" and she said she was sorry and I didn't really think anything of it, but then that night Elizabeth got hurt and so I was holding her. The whole time I was holding her Alexis was grumpy and glaring and making mean faces at me, and I still didn't really think to much of it... so then when I went to tuck them in for bed, Alexis was curled up in a ball, and didn't want me to even touch her, so I asked her what was wrong??? Then she broke into tears and started sobbing. She told me that she really didn't mean to hit me and she was sorry. So I said it wasn't a big deal, it didn't really hurt and I was not mad at her at all. Then she was crying so hard that she could hardly even talk, and then she said, "I feel like you love Lizzy more than you love me, you get to spend all day with her and Brytlee, and I am at school, and I never get to see you anymore". I was so sad that Alexis felt this way. I have always worried about being fair to all my kids, and there is no way that I could ever love one more than the other or stop loving one of them no matter what. I had a talk with her and I hope that it helped.
I have not been able to get the whole situation out of my head.... I love my kids so much but I do feel like half the time I don't get to pay attention to them because I am cleaning, cooking, or working on something. I hate that I can't just play with them all the time, or just hold them a little more. (the hard thing with my girls is when you hold one, the others get mad or just try to climb on and try to push the other one off) I have been thinking for a while, "How can I show each of my girls that they are loved and special"? So I am thinking that Ryan and I could maybe take them out on a date one by one. Or even just tell them more how much I love them. Or......
