nigh, night

A couple of nights ago I had the freakiest thing happen, and I can't get it out of my head. Brytlee started to cry about 5:00 a.m. and I am the mean mom, that if my kids are not sick, I will let them cry themselves back to sleep. She only cried for less than a minute, But this night I thought I needed to go and see her. So when I got to her door, I couldn't really hear anything, but I opened the door and went in, and just about jumped out of my skin. She was inside her pillow case, and then twisted up in her pillow.... (the pillow was completely around her) the only thing I could see was her legs kicking like crazy! She was very stuck in it, and I have no idea how she did it.
I am so thankful for the feeling that I had to tell me to go and check on her. If I didn't, I really don't know what would have happened.
I am never going to put pillows cases in her bed, and am thinking of putting zippers on all of my other girls pillows.
I couldn't sleep after that happened, and the next morning I couldn't wait to hold her in my arms. I love my kids so much, and don't know what I would do with out them.

Oh man that is so scary; it’s crazy how we are equipped with a mother’s intuition. And of course you never think something as simple as a pillow case could be dangerous. Maybe if you do put zippers you will be able to stop thinking about it.

Jill I am grateful to read this post. I gave Kate a pillow in her crib this week and have been a little worried about it. I'm definatly going to take the pillow case off

wow! That freaked me out just reading it, I can't imagine finding my baby like that. It' a good thing you took action and went in there. I think it is safe to say that zippers will be installed on our babes pillow cases very soon.
