Alexis is smart

This is a really old picture of Alexis, (I think that she is about Brytlee's age in this picture) I love it and thought I would post it with a couple of funny pictures.

Ryan and Alexis had a great conversation the other night while Alexis was doing homework. She gets a little frustrated when she doesn't know an answer or gets something wrong, and starts going on and on about how terrible everything is, and boo hoo hoo.... So she starts into "I'm not smart" so Ryan said, "Alexis, you are very smart". So Alexis say's, "I am only smart at two thing, I am a good reader, and I can remember what Jesus looked like".
The other day when she was in this same kind of mood, she came up to me and started to complain about everything and anything, and on her rampage, she started saying, "see this part right her on my leg, it is so fat". I about fell over laughing..... and just said, "where on earth did you hear something like that, and why would you ever think that you are fat.... you don't have a ounce of fat on you". Then she said so serious and dramatic, "I'm just a big fatty", and then she ran off making all sorts of noice, and an even more dramatic exit.
and fyi.... I have never said anything about being fat in front of my kids, so I have no idea where that came from? The things they learn from friends and school....

Our Happy Easter

We had such a great Easter this year. My parents came to stay the night with us, and the girls LOVED that! (so did I)

I love this picture! My dad is the cutest Dad in the world!!!! Brytlee loves this little game he plays with her, He pretends to be asleep and then when she gives him a kiss he wakes up and always is very SURPRISED! (all my girls love it, I guess it isn't just Brytlee)
I love this picture also!
We spent Easter Sunday at Ryan's parents house, and our girls were so spoiled!!!! The Easter Bunny came to our house and brought books and way to much candy, and then when we went there, we came home with three grocery bags full to the top of CANDY... we are good for a year or so!
The girls also got a Easter Basket from Grandma and Grandpa Harris and it had this cute outfit that Brytlee is wearing, and the other girls got clothes also, and they were full of all sorts of games, goodies, and fun things for the girls! (like I said, they were so spoiled)

All the Harris Grandchildren

Easter afternoon picture with our new kitten.... Rainbow Heart Harris
Alexis is such a monkey
They love little Rainbow (the kitten)
Saturday we went to the park for the Easter egg hunt that the town puts on.... it was over in one minute flat... no joke! Alexis didn't even get one thing... Elizabeth picked up one egg, and Brytlee and I went out to the middle, looked down, picked up a egg.... looked up, and everything was gone. It was crazy!!! After all the excitement, we went and played at the park for a little while and the girls had a good time.
Alexis has gotten really good at the monkey bars. She can even skip one bar in between, and is trying to get it down to two bars... (because one of her friends can do it already)

the girls friends
Alexis had a Cheer comp. this week also, and she did great! She can do her back handsprings almost all by herself. She just has to see you there even if you don't touch her.
Elizabeth and one of her best friends and cousin, Mickey
Lizzy had a crazy hair day at school this week! I thought this picture was so funny. She has the longest tongue.
So cute

crazy

It is so crazy how fast time goes when you have a lot to do. I feel like I have been going 100 miles an hour and not getting any of the things done that I need to do. (but I did get all my laundry done this week and that was wonderful)!
I have a lot that I should be writing about, and a lot of things that I may have forgotten already. So I will start with spring break.... or should I call it snow break? I was a little bummed by the weather because it was so cold, and muddy, and wet, and there was sooooo much snow on the ground. Alexis had no school for a whole week, and I feel like we were all stuck in the house and board. I didn't have anything great planned for our week, but Alexis and I did make it on a date one of the days and had some great one on one time. The next day Elizabeth kept asking when I was ever going to take her out on a date so we also made sure to make a trip to town shopping with just the two of us also.
This weekend my parents were able to get some time off of work and so they came and stayed the night at our house. We had no idea that they were even comming, and Ryan and I were at the temple when they called to say that they were only a hour away from our house.... (I was so excited and happy) When we got home they pulled in right about the same time. The girls were so happy, and bouncing off of the walls. Brytlee was really happy to see Grandpa Merrill, and didn't want to leave his side.
The next day we went shopping and got some really great deals at Albertsons, but the sales this week are so hard to figure out, and so it took us two hours to get it all together.
I had a great time with my parents and I am so happy they came to see us. I told them that is it so great to see them, but even better to have them all to myself. I felt so special!!!
I really do have the best parents in the world. I can't get over how lucky I am to have such a great family. My parents would do anything for us, and they are so much FUN. They are always ready to go out and do something, go on trips, play games, go shopping, play with the grand kids, and stay up late talking. (my mom and I stayed up past 1:00 clipping coupons and talking, it was so nice)
While listening to conference this year, I just had that feeling.... .like my heart was so full it could explode with the love I have for my family (that includes ALL my family), my parents, my children, and my wonderful husband.
A couple of funny things that I don't want to forget are........
Alexis was fighting with Elizabeth and so she said, "You big..... tomato"! Ouch.... I guess she didn't know what to call her, but Elizabeth knew what she meant and it hurt her feelings all the same.
The girls always have to tell me a million things when I tuck them into bed. So the other night Elizabeth said something about her heart going really fast. And so she asked if that means she is going to die? I told her " it is a good thing to have your heart beating fast, when you die your heart does not beat at all". Alexis said, "why do we have to die? Is it because we have to go be with Jesus?" I told her a little and could tell that our conversation was going to get very very long so I told her we could talk about it in the morning. Then she tells me, "you are going to die before me huh." And then Elizabeth said, "but Daddy will die before you". And so they couldn't see me laughing I had to say goodnight. (but we are going to have to talk about this for FHE)
I think that is all I can remember for now, so from now on, I hope I can keep up a little better so I don't have to cram everything into one post.....

Alexis Walking the Halls!

Alexis has 100 AR points in school, and so she was able to walk the halls this Friday!!! 100 points means that she has read over 200 books and has passed all the tests on each book. She has become such a good reader, and is really doing good in school We are so proud of Alexis!!!

The black Panther is the leader in the little parade in the halls, and then they all get a picture taken with him, and the picture is hung on the walls of the school.
We all woke up early and were able to make it to the parade on time.... (it wasn't easy getting all three girls ready but we made it) (8:20) Alexis was excited to have her family with her, and her Grandma and Grandpa Harris were able to make it and that made her feel really special! Elizabeth didn't want to be in the picture so I had to grab her and hold her, and right when they were taking the picture she turned her head.

For reaching 100 points the students get a pass to a swimming resort, and a free kids meal at Arctic Circle.

During the parade all the kids come out of the classrooms and into the halls and clap for the students who have reached 100 points. It is so cute! They will all give them five's and tell the good job, and cheer them all on.
Good job Alexis!!! We love you

flowers

This is a picture from last year. (I wish everything was this green already)

Sunday afternoon my girls came running into the house so excited and told me that I had to come outside and see something. They found some Tulips that were starting to pop out of the ground! They are so funny about the flowers that we grow, and have always been very good about watering them, pulling weeds, and they love to show them to anyone that comes over. Last year after our tulips had all died I went outside and cut them all down. Elizabeth went outside a little while after that and saw that they were all gone, she came in the house balling, and told me that someone had stolen our flowers. After I told her that more flowers were going to grow she cheered up a little, but she missed the tulips. It was really cute last night in Elizabeth's prayers she blessed mommy's flowers to grow. (so with that prayer we should be getting the best flowers ever :)

Green eggs and ham

Last week at school Alexis and her class celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday. On Monday they had a crazy backwards day... so Alexis wore her shirt backwards, and her pants inside out, and two different shoes. On Tuesday they had a crazy hat day, and on Wed. they had sock day. And Thursday was green egg and ham day. They all had to wear green to school, and Ryan actually made Alexis green eggs and ham.

It took a while before she would even try it, but after she did she said it tasted the same. She liked the bacon the best!
This weekend we went to a Cheer competition that our cousin Jaycee and Kylee were in and they took first place! It was a lot of fun to watch then an hang out with them. My girls really liked all the gymnastics that they all did, but Elizabeth wasn't feeling the best so didn't get into it as much. She had the worst runny nose and so her nose was very red.... she also has a black eye from a bicycle crash.... And after this picture Brytlee scratched her face, and then she ran into the car door while Ryan was opening it and got a huge goose egg on her forehead.... She didn't go to church the next day because she was looking a little abused.....

Breaking my heart

Alexis said something this Saturday that broke my heart. She was playing and going round and round in circles when I walked by and her arm hit me. I said "ouch" and she said she was sorry and I didn't really think anything of it, but then that night Elizabeth got hurt and so I was holding her. The whole time I was holding her Alexis was grumpy and glaring and making mean faces at me, and I still didn't really think to much of it... so then when I went to tuck them in for bed, Alexis was curled up in a ball, and didn't want me to even touch her, so I asked her what was wrong??? Then she broke into tears and started sobbing. She told me that she really didn't mean to hit me and she was sorry. So I said it wasn't a big deal, it didn't really hurt and I was not mad at her at all. Then she was crying so hard that she could hardly even talk, and then she said, "I feel like you love Lizzy more than you love me, you get to spend all day with her and Brytlee, and I am at school, and I never get to see you anymore". I was so sad that Alexis felt this way. I have always worried about being fair to all my kids, and there is no way that I could ever love one more than the other or stop loving one of them no matter what. I had a talk with her and I hope that it helped.
I have not been able to get the whole situation out of my head.... I love my kids so much but I do feel like half the time I don't get to pay attention to them because I am cleaning, cooking, or working on something. I hate that I can't just play with them all the time, or just hold them a little more. (the hard thing with my girls is when you hold one, the others get mad or just try to climb on and try to push the other one off) I have been thinking for a while, "How can I show each of my girls that they are loved and special"? So I am thinking that Ryan and I could maybe take them out on a date one by one. Or even just tell them more how much I love them. Or......

Dentist

We went to the dentist A LOT this month! Alexis went one week ago and found out that she had a tooth that didn't form with the right amount of enamel so it is a different color, and it had a cavity in it. The doctor said with this kind of tooth fillings can fall out, the tooth can cave in or chip, so he wanted to put a cap over it. So on Tuesday I took Alexis in to have a cap put on. I was so impressed with how well Alexis did. She didn't make a peep the whole time, and held still and was so brave. After she told me that it hurt really bad but she didn't want to say anything. And then she told Grandma that it kinda felt cool.... because it felt like her body was flying..... (she had the gas) Then on Wednesday, Elizabeth and Brytlee went in for their cleanings and check ups. They both did so good!!! Elizabeth loves the Dentist because the girls are all very nice to her and "so pretty". (they also have a TV in the ceiling so she likes that A LOT)
I didn't know how Brytlee would do because she is so little, but she was great. Didn't move at all and let them do whatever they needed. (her tongue was going crazy trying to taste all the stuff they put in her mouth) (it was funny to watch).

Brytlee's teeth looked great, and Elizabeth has two tinny cavities....(crap) so we will be making another trip for her soon!

Brytlee's 2 year pictures

I had a crazy day today! I woke up early and got all three girls ready, took Alexis to school, and then headed to the Dentist with Elizabeth and Brytlee, (which I will talk more about in my next post) and after that we went and had Brytlee's pictures done for her frame on her wall. It is so fun to see what a change there is from one year to two. She has changed a ton, and is just so cute! I love this little girl!!!!

I am really happy with how they turned out, and I have to say that I really don't love having pictures done anymore.... It took forever!!! The girls wanted to run all over the place and play with everything! But Brytlee did smile great for the camera and made it so hard for me to choose wich ones I liked the best! (I felt bad for Lizzy... she wanted to have her pictures taken soooo bad)

Brytlee's Birthday

My Baby is two!...... I am not sure how to feel about that yet.... The last two years have gone buy way, way, way to fast. I feel like she should still be my little baby, but she isn't really a baby anymore.
Brytlee is so much fun. She can be such a stinker some times, but even when she is being her worst.... I can't help but want to just hug her, laugh at her, and just love her. She is such a sweet heart!!!!
Brytlee has really started to grow a ton. She is already in mostly three T clothing, and looks so tall to me. She can talk so well, and can now tell us what happened when someone...(Lizzy) is picking on her.
I have a ton of pictures from Brytlee's birthday party and other great Brytlee moments,

she isn't afraid of posing for the camera!

Brytlee's birthday muffin. She had just woke up and Ryan had made muffins so we had to sing to her and let her know that it was her special day! (that night when we were getting ready to sing at her party, she started to sing to herself so we all joined in)

The birthday cake! I wanted to make a cute cake that wasn't a animal or something like that, but it didn't turn out how I thought it would.... I just wanted it to be a cute stacked cake but the top baked funny, and the littlest one that I was going to put on the top feel and broke..... but it is still cute, and Brytlee enjoyed the frosting and the chocolate....

Brytlee loved opening her presents and her sisters loved helping her. She got some great presents! (spoiled little girl)
Grandma always buys her cute clothes for her birthday... I think I might like that even more than she does right now.....

This is such a cute dress! I love it!
Crazy hair
Dress up

Brytlee has really started wanting to play dress up or just put things all over her head.... I thought this was funny! She just kept taking bows to Ryan to put in her hair

This was a great look for her! PJ's, rubber boots, and a belt around the head! (she put it together all by herself)
She also insisted on this being on her head!

There is so many things that I want to write down so that I never forget how much I love this little girl, and how wonderful she is. I just can't put it all into words, and I don't have the time to write it all.
I do want to write some of my favorite things that Brytlee does....
-The way that she talks is so cute. Her voice is just so little and precious!
-The way she says "Zyes"
-when she laughs because I finally caught on to what she wanted or what she was trying to tell me...
-How whenever I walk in the house she yells, "mommas home"
-she tries to do everything her big sisters do.
-When she dances
-when she plays
-When she wants to cuddle, give me a hug and a kiss, and let me rub her back
-when she gets excited!
-I love everything about Brytlee!!! Happy Birthday
