We have had a lot of talks with the girls about what they can and can not do around and with the baby. Brytlee was asking one day if she could feed the baby just something really really little. So Ryan said, "we don't put anything in the baby's mouth"! then Brytlee said, "oh, just moms boob"?
She is so funny!

Two Weeks Old
Our little Adison will be two weeks old tomorrow. It has gone by fast, but yet it feels like it has been forever sense I have been able to sleep at night. I keep saying it is a good thing this little girl is so cute..... because she is the worst sleeper at night. I have been very spoiled by my last three girls when it came to sleeping at night. (Alexis started sleeping all night when she was only two days old) (and my other two were good about eating and going right to sleep) Adison takes about a hour to eat and then a half hour to get a burp out of her, and then when you lay her down she poops or gets the hiccups or spits up and then you get to start all over again.... She sleeps great all day, so I just keep praying and praying that she will get better each night.
but like I said, it is a good thing she is so cute. Because when I pick her up and I am so so tired, and look at her cute little face, my heart just melts.
My parents came and stayed the night with us this last weekend, and it was so nice to have someone around to take the attention away from the baby and give the girls something to do. They brought dinner, and my mom made us her YUMMY bread, and we just hung out and had a nice time.
My parents were on a vacation in the Bahama's when Adison was born so this was the first time they got to meet her.

Jaycee came with her parents to see the baby, and she was so funny. She didn't want to hold the baby and was so scared she was going to hurt her.
My aunt Becky and Uncle Doug.

Karsten with Adison
Annette came again to bring my girls back from her house and Chris came with her. Her kids were so cute with the baby, and loved holding her.
Summer and Adison
The girls were so excited to see her after being away for the four days Annette had taken them to her house.

Alexis is going to be like a second little mommy

Brytlee loves to hold her, but only for a couple of seconds and then she is done!

Funny how she makes a different face and she all of a sudden looks chunky....
Daddy's little girl!

She was so nervous and didn't like her first few baths.
But after her little cord come off and we could get her all wet she would relax enough to sleep right through it.... She really likes to be covered up. Even when you take her diaper off she gets fussy. It has been a crazy first two weeks.

Adison Janiece Harris
Adison Janiece... We had a really hard time finding a name for this cute little girl. It was between Adison, Taia, or Emma. And for her middle name we knew all along that we wanted to name her after my Grandma Janiece. I love my Grandma so much and she is such a strong, amazing person that has always been a wonderful example for her family.
weight was 7 lbs 14 oz. and she is our longest baby at 22 inches long.
I love this picture. As soon as she heard daddy's voice she tried to look at him
The girls were all very excited to see their new sister, but I think Alexis and Brytlee were a little more worried about me.
I have a baby picture that looks a little like this one so maybe she will look like me a little?
She has very dark hair that is almost black
she is just perfect!
I already love this girl so much!
Lucky Baby
We had our little Adison on St. Patrick's day so she has got to be a very lucky little girl! I am going to write down my memory and thoughts about the delivery so if you don't want to hear about that.... I wouldn't read this.
This whole week I have been scared out of my mind. Knowing what had to happen to get this baby out of my belly..... but I always have so many bad thoughts and worry about every possible thing that can go wrong that it was killing me. I have a few things that I have done before I have had each of my kids. I get my toe-nails painted, shave my legs, get the clothes ready, and I have had a blessing before each delivery. I am so grateful that I have a husband that is able to give such comforting blessings, and it helps calm my nerves every time.
I went into the doc's office on Wed. and he just looked at me and said, "well if you haven't had this baby by Monday come in".... I thought it was weird because I was a couple day's over my date, and he didn't even check me to see if anything was going on... So I said, "how big do you think this baby is right now"? And he said, "oh 8 + pounds". So I was shocked and a little made that he wanted to wait even longer and let her get even bigger. So that is when I had to say lets get this baby started. He thought about it and kept throwing day's around like Sunday, Monday, and I just said, "tomorrow"!
We went in around 8:30 a.m. on March 17, and they got us all checked in, talked to us about how my other labors have been (so they were all expecting this to go by soooo fast).... They got me hooked up to monitor before they started the pit and I was already having contractions every two minutes, but they were not very big and not doing anything. So around 9:30 they turned the pit on and got them going a little stronger. I did really good and went from a 1 to a four by 12:00. I have been very scared of the pain I knew I was going to be feeling and I knew that with my other girls I waited to long to get an epidural so it didn't work.... so I wanted it as soon as I hit a four. I must have made the anesthesiologist nervous because he really drugged me up
A LOT! He got it going and made sure I was all numb, and then gave me another dose, and then a half hour later came in again and set me up with a drip line. I loved not feeling the pain, but I was starting to feel sick and dizzy so they turned it off.
By 4:30 I was past a 8 and so they kept calling the doc and telling him to hurry because for me in the past by that time it was over in a flash. But he was working and didn't come until 5:10 p.m. and that is when I started to push. I couldn't believe how different it felt, and couldn't understand why nothing was happening. The most I have ever pushed before was three sets of three and and then I was done. I could tell by the doc's reaction each time that nothing was happening with each push and it just made me so frustrated. The doctor blamed it on the baby having a big head and said "with each push it was molding to pelvis so just be patient and it wasn't a big deal because most lady's push for over two hours". (he said this three of four times and I finally said shhhhhpp) After 40 minutes of pushing I was so worn out and the epidural was all gone on my left side and almost gone on my right side, I told them I wanted it turned back on. The doctor thought it would just go by faster without it so he just ignored me..... At 6:00, I finally felt her start to move a little with every push and then by 6:15 she was out. It was KINDA neat to feel her little body move inside me and then feel with each push her body coming out, but no pain would have been even better...... (For some reason half way through this, my left hip felt like I had broken it and was giving me so much pain.... in between each push Ryan was a sweetheart and would rub it really deep for me and it helped a lot).
With each of my girls I have always felt so much energy after I have had them, but with Adison I was sooooooo tired and just worn out. My body felt like it had been run over by a truck, and I was sore every where. (I have never felt so old). I tried to stand up and go to the bathroom about two hours after she was born and my hips didn't want to work. I was glad Ryan was there to hold me up or I would have fallen like a box of rocks.
She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. and is 22 inches long. Her head was 14 inches around and so I don't know why she was so hard. She wasn't as fat as I thought she was going to be.
After everything calmed down they brought her to me and she was already reaching and trying to nurse, and she knew exactly what to do. No matter how long I did it she didn't want to stop so we ended up giving her a bottle because she acted like she was starving. Around 12:00 I told the nurse that I was so tired and I needed a good night's rest to to keep her in the nursery for the night. And as soon as they took her she just started to scream and was so sad. I could hear every little cry... (also some weird guy right next door that wouldn't stop yelling ALL night long.... he kept yelling, "Nurse...... HELP") So as soon as my head would hit the pillow and I would start to drift to sleep, someone would come in to check my bleeding and rub my belly. Then as soon as I would start to fall asleep again, they would bring me the baby to see if I could nurse..... I didn't get any sleep at all and it was so frustrating.
The next day the doc came in and talked to me like I should stay another night and I said "no way, I hate this place"!!! So he agreed to let me go home.
Adison was up the entire night also and fell asleep around 6:00. In the night she had a lot of messy diapers and had a very hard time burping and just couldn't get feeling better.... I was so scared to bring her home because I have not had a fussy baby yet, and she was scaring the crap out of me. I am not good at staying up all night with a screaming baby you don't know what to do with.
But when they brought her in she was happy as could be and made three or four more messy diapers and ate a little and was just as cute as could be. (She really likes Ryan and just cuddles up to him). She still didn't sleep a lot in the hospital, but as soon as we got home she was out!
From 12:00 -6:00 Adison and I had a GREAT nap. (I woke up but she is still sleeping hard) I just hope she sleeps again tonight!

New Calling
After being in our new ward for over a year, Ryan has been put in as the President in the Elders.
I had been giving him a hard time and wondering why they gave such a amazing guy such easy callings for the last year..... (he has been the weblo's scout leader, and a sub for sunday school) I think it had something to do with building a house, working full time and being a football coach... = no extra time for anything!
I have had a lot of people ask me if I am ready for this.... I am not sure what to expect or what they really mean. I know that it will take up a lot of time, and I also know that Ryan will do a great job at it. I am so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man that is so strong in the church and a great example to his family. ( and I can't leave out he is incredibly good-looking!!!!)

rub-a-dub-dub
I know I have said that I "LOVE" our family sized bath tub, and so I had to show everyone why. You really can fit a whole family in it. My kids really wanted to go swimming the other night, and we took to long and by the time we got all ready the pool was going to close in 15 minutes. So instead they all jumped in the tub instead. (Ryan's brother Chase took my spot) They said I still could have gotten in but for some reason being pregnant I have a bubble, and there was not enough room for me and the invisible bubble to get in.....
The girls still had to take the snorkels, goggles, and tube in the tub.....

Such sweet girls. Alexis has been so amazing this last week. I have said several times that I really really like her this week!!!! She has been working really hard on having a good attitude and has been doing her chores every day and them some. She has been very thoughtful of how I am feeling and has tried to even help take care of me. It makes life so much easier when you have a little help and there is four happy girls in the home! (soon to be 5)

One more week
I am down to the last week of my pregnancy and I have heard a few times from my husband, "I don't remember you ever being like this with the others", or "you never felt like that with the other girls". So I thought I better write down some of my pains before we both forget them.... (just so we can remember for the next time)
From day one this has been a harder pregnancy. I threw up more, and felt sick all the time. I hated the way I have felt the entire time and can not wait to feel like I have energy and my mind is back to normal. I have gotten so big with this baby, and everything hurts. I can't sleep very well at night, but in the day that is all I feel like doing... If I do take a nap I really can't sleep at night so I try not to nap. My ribs are always killing me, my hips hurt, and my feet are so big I can not fit them into a shoe. I had to wear flip flops last week to church. I have a hard time breathing at times, and the heartburn is something I have no matter what. Even when I wake up in the morning I still have heartburn. I have gone through 7 bottles of tums with this pregnancy, and I am almost out so I may have to go buy bottle #8.
It is so amazing that girls go through all this pain and trust me.... there is going to be so much more pain before I get to meet this little angel.... but after we hold them in our arms for the first time, everything we went through to get them here is gone and you just don't remember anything but the good. I am so looking forward to the good, and can't wait to see my baby. I know that everything I have felt is a small price to pay for having the most wonderful gift that a mother will ever receive.

funny story
I was talking to Brytlee and saw that she had a scratch on her foot so I said,
"Brytlee, what happened to your foot"
And she said,
"Lilly (our cat) scratched me, she thought I was someone else".
I had to laugh, she loves playing with Lilly so much and goes outside in the freezing cold just to go and be with her. I have to keep a close eye on her and make sure she doesn't sneak outside because most of the time when she does she has not shoes or coat on.....
Love this little girl

School Pictures
2011 school pictures. This is the end of the school year picture
first of the school year. (poor girl gets cold sores at least once a month....)
Class pictures. She takes after me, I was always on the back row.
End of the year picture for Alexis
first of the year. (I don't know why her hair didn't stay curled)
Alexis class picture. (she is on the bottom row)
My Baby......
I know that Brytlee isn't a baby anymore, but she still is my little baby for now. I am sure once her new sister comes things will change, but it is so hard to treat her like she is a four year old when she is my youngest. I catch myself doing things for her, and the girls also doing things for her that we would have never been doing to the other two girls when they were four years old.....
I took Brytlee into JCPennys to have her pictures taken for her birthday and she was so funny. She has a very hard time with her smile, and most of them looked like she was really cold or really scared, so the guy taking the pictures just kept saying, "try not to show your teeth", and other tips like that. I had to laugh a lot because she was trying so hard.
Brytlee is so fun and has such a personality. She is full of energy from the moment she wakes up, till the moment she goes to bed. She loves to play games and watch the girls play on the computer or the wii. She is so good at Memory and plays that one a couple times a day. You can always tell when Brytlee is getting into trouble because she is either really quiet or she just has a look on her face that gives her away. She has always loved books, she can look at books for hours and whenever we go to Grandma's house she grabs a big pile of books and hands them to grandma to get reading. She also loves to play dolls, she can play with Elizabeth for hours, and the days when she is home alone she will still get out her dolls and play for hours by herself. She also loves to color.
This Christmas our little town gives out a coloring book for all the local businesses and you turn them in and they give you a little treat then latter they judge them and have winners that they put in the paper. As soon as Brytlee got her coloring book she colored the whole thing front to back. After she was done she wanted to color more so we ended up getting her two books and she colored just about all of the second one also. She ended up winning in her age group for the hospital here in town.
