This year my girls really wanted to buy the wrist bands so they wouldn't ever run out of tickets for the carnival. So they decided to set up a lemonade stand at the road and they would sell lemonade for a while, and then every once and a while they would go door to door. They only did it about four times, and when we counted up all their money I could not believe how much they had earned. $40.00!!! So they were so excited and we had told them that if they earned half we would pay the rest.
We went to the sidewalk sales and everything was just the same old thing they have had every year. Someone really needs to bring something new next year or I think it is going to eventually just die off. One thing that everyone liked, and EVERYONE had was the feathers in their hair. My girls wanted them but after you see everyone you know with them in..... they just don't seem as cool anymore. So we did the face painting instead.
The girl that did it this year was so good. It was amazing how fast she was and all the pictures of the full faces she had done were just cute as could be.
Alexis was very careful with hers and it lasted perfect all day. It was still on when we were getting ready the next day for church and she wasn't very happy when I told her she needed to wash it off.
Brytlee
Elizabeth is pouting because she messed hers up a little and she didn't get to sit where she wanted. Elizabeth and Brytlee were both watching a movie later in the day and they laid their heads on their hands and they rubbed the paint off a little. Then they started to cry because they wanted to go and get them fixed and by the time it was time to go to the parade they were all washed away by tears.
So if you have a weak stomach do not read this!!!! I was so excited to go on the rides this year with my girls, and growing up I loved the Blackfoot fair. I could go on every ride over and over and never ever felt sick at all.... well this year I told them that I would go on the rides with them because I wasn't pregnant! We went on the ball of fire first and I got a little headache from it but it was no big deal... I didn't really feel like going on the spaceship 2000 so they went on that and I just waited for them. And after that I talked them into going on the zipper with me. (one of my favorite rides ever from my childhood) So we get on and within the first minute or so I felt my stomach come all the way up to my mouth and said to the girls, "oh no girls, I am going to be sick". And it hit me so fast.... I started throwing up and I couldn't help it at all. And every time I did the ride would flip us backward so it would just come back in my face and over the top of my head. I don't think any of it was below my head, and none of it got on my girls. The whole time we were on the ride Alexis was yelling so loud. "STOP the ride, this LADY is throwing up!" Ryan asked her later why she said "this lady" and not my mom, and she said, "I didn't want anyone to know she was my mom." I think she was just being nice because when we were getting off of the ride I told them to tell everyone they did it. (but everyone could tell it was really me)
So as we walk out of the ride I hear EVERYONE around yelling, "EWWW, Sick, LOOK at her!" so I just put my head down and was ready to run before I saw anyone I know. But as I look up I see this cute lady from my ward that just gasps and says, "Oh Jill, It's everywhere." I had to wipe my eyes like crazy and still couldn't see very well, and then told her to head over to the other side and tell Ryan to meet me at the car. (I was really glad she was there to get him for me. I really didn't want to walk through the crowd looking like I did)
The girls and I ran to the car and there was a bathroom right by us so I went and washed my face and as much as I could in the sink. I couldn't believe bad I looked and what was still in my stomach. I knew I was going to go on rides so I didn't eat anything after 3:00.
So for a "note to myself" don't ever, ever, ever go on another ride like these again!!!!
